Gunite is a mixture of cement and sand, blended in a hopper, sprayed through a hose using compressed air, with water added at the nozzle. Gunite requires a larger crew to apply and trim and more equipment to set up. It can reach greater strength than normal concrete with the use of carefully controlled application techniques.
